About Us

Born and raised in the serenity of the hills and valleys of Nyindo, Ndeija, Rwampara District, Derrick attended Ndeija Primary School and Mbarara High School for both UCE and UACE. Derrick received a BSc in Quantitative Economics at Makerere University. He holds two Post Graduate Diplomas; one in Financial Management and another in Banking and has subsequently received a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Suffolk University. Derrick is currently enrolled in an MBA program. Derrick is a seasoned Finance Professional with a vast knowledge base, strong integrity, and cross-cutting experience in the areas of Banking, Finance and Insurance. He specializes in helping individuals and small businesses work towards pursuing their financial goals. Currently working with the World Financial Group, Derrick is passionate about helping the community of Ugandans and especially the Banyankore community within New England and across the United States. Recognizing that each client has individual needs, Derrick dedicates himself to understanding and appreciating each client's situation before making recommendations. He believes in educating clients and works diligently to help them develop achievable goals, understand their financial choices and portfolios, and implement strategies that assist them in attaining their personal plans. Derrick motivates, trains, educates, and frankly, entertains by delivering his core message: Empower yourself to take control of your financial life. Derrick brings an important perspective on connecting the financial dots for families. Having spent most of early childhood life in the village, Derrick appreciates the fact that society is aided by cultural norms and values because they give people a set of expectations for how to think and act. Cultural norms and values are passed down to people through their families, friends, and acquaintances with the expectation that they will be adopted by the person, which shapes society as a whole. It is with the above conviction that Derrick championed the creation of Banyankore Kweterana New England(BKNE) to provide a platform for Banyankore families within the New England geographical area to preserve and protect our culture and pass it on for generations to come.
